At The Ridge Clemson, Welcome Week is designed to spark connections, welcome new residents, and kick off the school year with high energy. I launched the week with a vibrant Move-In Day Pop-Up Event, transforming a typically stressful day into a full-on celebration.I partnered with local small businesses to host a curated pop-up shopping experience on the pool deck, brought in a mobile coffee cart right outside the front office, and added Ridge-branded merch and a Clemson Dining info booth. To mimic a tailgate-style atmosphere, I included a self-serve mimosa bar for parents, live grilling with hotdogs and hamburgers, a full toppings station, grilled corn on the cob, and iced tea and lemonade. The pool deck came to life with colorful balloons, signage, and musicβcreating an inviting, upbeat first impression for residents and families alike.The recap reel (shot by vendor, Summer Doodles) captures the vibe perfectly. To build excitement before Welcome Week, I shared behind-the-scenes content from Turnβhighlighting the prep work, team effort, and finishing touches that make move-in possible. With a storytelling approach, I turned key prep and apartment flips into engaging posts that gave future residents a glimpse of the energy and care happening behind the scenes.

Building a Personable Presence
As part of the brandβs storytelling approach, early resident interactions played a key role in building a personable presence. By capturing candid momentsβwhether handing out creamsicles by the pool or highlighting resident petsβThe Ridgeβs voice became friendly, welcoming, and authentic. These touchpoints didnβt just welcome new residents; they helped shape a brand identity rooted in connection, personality, and everyday moments that matter.

Inspired by the βItβs Always Gameday at The Ridgeβ move-in theme, I planned a Clemson-themed Room Decor Bingo event. Residents played for prizes like pillows, blankets, framed wall art, glassware, a marquee light box, curtain lights, a Death Valley-themed table tray, and a tiger mascot pillow. The grand prize was a vintage-style Frigidaire mini fridgeβthis event was a fun way to spark community-building and gave residents the perfect chance to show off their #AllIn spirit with some spirited decor for their new home at The Ridge Clemson!

To give residents a chance to have fun, connect, and make memories before the semester began, I hosted Float-a-Paloozaβour final Welcome Week event before classes kicked off. I transformed the resort-style pool deck into a tropical, end-of-summer bash with tons of colorful floats, vibrant leis, and a giant inflatable water slide as the main attraction. It was the perfect way to wrap up the week and set the tone for a fun, community-driven semester at The Ridge Clemson.
